Ludwig Boltzmann Lecture: Cardiac Sarcomere Protein Quality Control and BAG3, Assoc. Prof. Jonathan Kirk, PhD. (22.03.2023)

Dr. Jonathan Kirk is a tenured Associate Professor at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Vice Chair of the Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology. He received his PhD in Bioengineering at University of Pittsburgh and performed his postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

His lab studies contractile dysfunction in cardiovascular disease, using state-of-the-art biophysical assays, mass spectrometry, animal models of disease, and human tissue. Dr. Kirk has been continuously funded by the NIH, is an Associate Editor for American Journal of Physiology Heart and Circulatory Physiology, a Fellow of the American Heart Association and American Physiological Society, consults for multiple biotech companies, and has developed an innovative new degree program in mass spectrometry at Loyola.
