Animal House

The animal house accommodates all animals that are treated as part of an experiment or surgical intervention at the Center for Biomedical Research and Translational Surgery. Experienced animal keepers under the direction of trained veterinarians take care for different species from mice to large animals in 3R-compliant husbandry.

In addition, our animal keepers also care for the PIL housing rooms.

In the first quarter of 2022, a modern surgical area with attached large animal husbandry and imaging (hybrid operation room) will be inaugurated at the location site of Himberg, which will also be operated by the center and its departments.
